Oceans and Information Technology
Is that the answer? It just may be.
Here is the Question I posed to myself a wee bit earlier: What will I do to sort out the many facets of my life, skills
and interests? Let us start with a hypothetical question: if you were given the opportunity to study anything, and learn
and grow, then subsequently pursue a career in any given field, what would you do? In this space I will decide.
I also love Video...
The following link shows a sample of some experimental video I gathered. This clip is the view from my motorcycle on the
way to my office. You can see a few obstacles in my path once I got into the driveway.

Maybe, just Maybe...
I have thunk long and hard...
What if I could make gadgets, gizmos and sensors during the winter, in a nice cozy lab, helping other faculty with their
electronics, welding and other various needs, and then in the ice free months voyage out and test and/or deploy such instruments?
Maybe I don't want to live aboard all year long, necessarily...
I enjoy working with materials, and helping others get things done through technological means...
Dr. John Kelley has helped me think about these things... and I will have more information later regarding these choices.
As of now, I have decided to take a Marine Science Limnology class called "Topics Oceanographic Research" - this
will take a semester to complete, and will be part of my decision making process. It is a broader scope class, current needs,
goals, projects and papers.
This will assist me in thinking about what I wish to pursue, perhaps to the PhD level.
The Beginning....
8-10-7007 These exploratory words are probably a good start, however, I add that I will decide on an academic program discipline
by December 2007. The beginning is an exercise where I merely list words that are related to my interests, for either current
activities or future.
also I add - I will submit a completed proposal on a work related project to Dr. McBay by August 31, 2007.
